Legal Support & Updates

From WIN-Bangor and ILAP: ICE has announced…that for the foreseeable future they will not be stopping and detaining people other than in cases involving other more serious crimes as well – such as drug trafficking, child exploitation, human trafficking, etc – and they will not be conducting operations at or near health care facilities. The point of these changes is to make sure that all immigrants feel safe to get the medical attention they may need. Deportation hearings (except for individuals currently incarcerated) have also been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date Here are some links to articles and websites related to these changes.

All U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offices, including the Portland Field Office and the Boston Asylum Office, will be CLOSED to the public starting March 18 through at least May 3.
