Are you interested in becoming a partner of the Maine Multicultural Center (MMCC) mission and work? There are several ways to join our efforts. We support efforts to welcome and support immigrants and people from away, and foster smooth transitions into living in the Greater Bangor community.
Giving a charitable contribution will support activities of MMCC. Whether it is $5 or more, your contribution will help assure that assistance and services are available for the people we serve.
Join a Committee
MMCC has several committees that support our goals and mission. New members are welcome to these working committees and it can be as easy as contacting the committee chair and share your interest. Current MMCC committees include:
Volunteer for an Event
Providing help for upcoming MMCC events is always welcome. Greeters, assistance with logistics (setting up and tearing down), manning information tables, and helping prepare event materials are examples of some of the volunteer activities.
Attend an Event
MMCC offers a variety of events including:
- Breaking Bread With Our Neighbors
- Multicultural Community Forums
- Munch and Mingle for educators
- Economic Development Conference (hosted bi-annually)
Serve on the Board of Directors
MMCC has an active hands-on Board of Directors with membership representing different cultures and services in the region including education, healthcare, faith, and economic development to name a few. Nominations to the Board are welcome – we prefer that Board members initially join an MMCC committee before nomination to the Board.
To get involved, it’s as easy as sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (207) 974-3223 to leave a message. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.
